Convensa wins the contract to upgrade railway infrastructure in Aragon

Convensa has been awarded the contract to upgrade the track infrastructure in the provinces of Zaragoza and Huesca for more than 13 million euro.
The works will mainly consist of the renewal of sleepers on 76 kilometres of the Madrid-Barcelona conventional gauge line, on the route between San Juan de Mozarrifar (Zaragoza) and Selgua (Huesca), which also includes the stations of Zuera (Zaragoza), Tardienta, Sariñena and Tormillo-Lastanosa (Huesca).
The installation of new polyvalent concrete monoblock sleepers, which are more rigid, more robust and durable, and with better dynamic behaviour, will increase comfort and reliability for both passenger and freight railway traffic, and will facilitate maintenance work. In addition to the stockpiling, transport, unloading and positioning of the sleepers, various operations will also be carried out on the ballast layer and track geometry.
Convensa continues to develop the projects to adapt the Madrid-Zaragoza section to the Autopista Ferroviaria services as well as the renovation of turnouts on the Madrid-Seville high-speed line, making it one of Spain's leading railway construction and maintenance companies.
