Convensa has begun the assembly and placement of the deck beams of the Maltes viaduct, which is 584 meters long, divided into 15 40-meter spans. The viaduct is of a hyperstatic precast beam typology by means of unions at the joints. The beams are box-type with dimensions in their section of 2.40 meters high and 3.92 meters at the bottom. The beams of the 40 meter spans weigh approximately 230 tons.

The Maltes Viaduct is one of the 16 viaducts in this section and in the coming weeks beams will be mounted on three more viaducts. In addition to the viaducts, the Níjar-Rio Andarax section has 65 drainage works, 4 overpasses, 9 underpasses and an 878-meter-long tunnel that crosses the Juaida industrial estate, in the Almeria town of Viator.
