Convensa continues to make progress on the construction of the new Murcia-Almería High-Speed Rail Line (LAV) and the Mediterranean Corridor as it passes through the Murcian municipality of Totana, with the development of a unique structure: the viaduct over the A-7 motorway. Measuring 954 metres in length, it will consist of two sections with prefabricated concrete beams and a central metal section over the motorway with three spans.

From 5 March until May, various operations will be carried out to advance the construction of the viaduct:

Lifting of the central span beam with two large mobile cranes and welded joints.
Installation of pre-slabs, reinforcement and concreting of side beams and slab.
Installation of impost, ballast retaining wall, communication channel, waterproofing of deck and barrier.

The installation of the central metal span of the mixed structure projected over the A7 motorway linking the Region of Murcia with Andalusia, within the framework of the Murcia-Almeria High-Speed Mediterranean Corridor construction project, on the Totana section, represents a significant milestone in the Mediterranean Corridor construction project.
