Convensa commences the last phase of turnout renovation on the Madrid-Seville high speed line

Convensa has commenced the last phase of the turnout renovation on the Madrid-Seville high-speed line. During this stage, 51 state-of-the-art AV4 model track devices, up to 175 metres and 170 tonnes, will be installed, with the participation of more than one hundred professionals and keeping the line in service during the day.

The work will be carried out both at train overtaking and stabling posts and on viaducts, branch lines and banalisation posts along the line. The operation of loading and transporting the track equipment from the base at Villarubia de Santiago, in Toledo, to the different points of action.

The works are part of the comprehensive modernisation plan that Adif AV is carrying out on this network. These actions aim to ensure that the first high-speed line in Spain, which has been in operation for more than thirty years, maintains its quality and reliability standards and responds to the increase in traffic associated with the liberalisation of passenger transport.
