Convensa awarded the adaptation contract for the Sagunto-Teruel-Zaragoza Line for the movement of freight trains

Convensa, the railway company of the FCC Group, has been awarded the contract for the adaptation of the Railway Line Sagunto-Teruel-Zaragoza for the circulation of freight trains of 750 meters in length. The contract has an amount of 5.8 million euros and a deadline of 10 months.

The object of these works is the extension of the tracks for the parking of trains of 750 meters in length in four stations of the Sagunto-Teruel-Zaragoza Line. The stations targeted by these actions are Estivella-Albalat dels Tarongers (Valencia), Teruel, Ferreruela (Teruel) and Cariñena (Zaragoza). The works include the renovation of different sections within these stations, with the improvement of the current superstructure of the track, placement of multi-purpose sleepers, rail type UIC 60, contribution of a new layer of ballast and installation of new track devices.

With this contract, CONVENSA will be present within the Master Plan of the Sagunto-Teruel-Zaragoza Line that ADIF is launching, whose purpose is to significantly improve the state of the current infrastructure in order to continue strengthening this section of the Corridor Cantábrico-Mediterráneo, especially for freight traffic.
