Convensa will execute the track assembly of the Linha da Beira Baixa between Covilhã and Guarda stations in Portugal

CONVENSA, the railway company of the FCC Group, has been awarded the installation of the track between the Covilhã and Guarda stations, under the contract for the modernization and electrification of the Covilhã-Guarda section on the Beira Baixa line that Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP), its execute through a consortium formed by Ramalho Rosa Cobetar and Conduril Engenharia. The track assembly project has an amount of 7.2 million euros and has 36 kilometers in length, which include the connection between the Beira Baixa and Beira Alta lines.

The modernization of this section of the line will allow the adaptation to the current standards of the whole of it. The reform of the section that is part of the Northern International Corridor, is carried out within the framework of the Compete 2020 and is part of the project to revitalize regional connections in rail transport between Portugal and Spain.

With this CONVENSA award, it is positioned in the Portuguese market fulfilling one of the strategic internationalization objectives of the company.
